Also in a five min drive from Faros village you may reach the iero beach which is actually situated on the north coast of Ikaria and it’s definitely worth to visit when there is a south wind blowing on the island. With that weather the tiny gulf  of iero is transformed in a fantastic blue lagoon.

On the way from Agios kyrikos to Faros there are more picturesome purple   beaches like nealia, kerame, mikro kerame, anefanti, glifadi where may have  a more private and tranquil swim.

Next to Agios kirykos you may visit the once very famous thermal bath village of Therma where you may have a swim, relax  in one of the traditional cafes, pasty shops and restaurants by the small dock or try the natural Cave  hammam  and thermal water Jacuzzi.

On the way from Agios Kirykos to the west side of the island  you may visit Tsukala beach, sirtiko beach, xilosyrti village where you find a nice beach and food places, levadi beach and at the end of the east coast road  you find the famous (mostly for the youngsters), exotic Seychelles beach and the village of Magganitis where you may find nice places to eat drink and even party under the full moon.

A great advantage of staying in the south side of Ikaria is the micro climate of the Island where due to the long, high and solid Atheras mountain, no matter how strong the north “meltemy” wind blows the sea is always calm and accessible for a refreshing swim.
